Full-Scope Design & Construction of a Sustainable Residential Complex
This multi-family residential complex, located in one of Dhaka’s growing neighborhoods, is a testament to The Atelier BD’s integrated approach to design and construction. Named Verdant Concrete, the project reflects the duality at the heart of our work—robust structure softened by greenery, and modern living supported by timeless materials.
From the earliest stages, this project was envisioned not merely as a building, but as a living system. It was designed to feel rooted in the landscape while rising confidently into the skyline. Our team was involved from concept to completion, overseeing both architectural design and full-scope construction. This allowed us to maintain precision, clarity, and control at every phase.
The façade is a composition of exposed brick, fair-faced concrete, and structured greenery. Vertical planter beds are woven into the elevation, providing natural shade and thermal comfort while establishing a visual identity that evolves with the seasons. The raw texture of the materials was not hidden—but celebrated. The decision to work with unfinished surfaces required an exacting level of craftsmanship from our construction team.
Internally, the building is planned around light and airflow. Large operable openings, internal courtyards, and staggered volumes ensure passive cooling and natural ventilation across all levels. Communal areas and transitional spaces were softened with garden zones and shaded nooks—encouraging interaction without sacrificing privacy.
Our construction team brought these ideas to life with care and rigor. Precision shuttering was used for the concrete walls, custom detailing was implemented in balustrades and gates, and the entire building envelope was treated for weather resistance without aesthetic compromise. Every joint, drain, and finish was executed with an emphasis on longevity, sustainability, and beauty.
Sustainability was not an afterthought—it was a guiding principle. From efficient material sourcing to waste management and energy-light systems, the building was designed and built to endure. It is a home for families, but also for foliage, light, and air.
